The Delhi Gaushala, a non-profit sanctuary established in 1862 by the Delhi Pinjrapole Society (Reg.), reflects a profound love for cows, a sentiment that has guided its development over the years. Spread over 4 acres near Kishanganj Railway Station. This gaushala is built on the vision of compassionate cow care, inspired by Param Pujya Baba Shaadi Nath Ji and supported by a legacy of dedicated benefactor Rai Bahadur Lala Amba Prasad Ji. Together, they transformed this space into a shelter for cows and established a trust to ensure its longevity. Today, the gaushala is thriving with new initiatives that honour its deep-rooted commitment to care and compassion. A beautiful new temple is currently being built, offering a peaceful sanctuary where visitors can reflect, pray, and connect with the revered animals in a meaningful way. Alongside this, a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital has been established, dedicated to providing expert medical care and ensuring the health and well-being of every cow that calls this place home. This growth is a testament to the enduring legacy of love and respect for these sacred cows.
Â
To further our mission, a gurukul has been built in Delhi Gaushala premises. The Gurukul system promotes study of Sanskrit, Vedic Scriptures, ancient Sciences and Yoga. This study aligns with cultural and spiritual  values associated with Cow Care. A gurukul in a Gaushala reflects the Dharmik principle of living in harmony with nature (where students receive  Vedic education, creating a holistic environment that combines cultural education with the practice of cow care.) Sustainable practices, like solar panels, also support our eco-friendly vision, aligning with the gaushala’s commitment to preserving both nature and tradition. Through our services like Gau Daan, cow adoption, cow cuddling, and cow pooja ceremonies—Delhi Gaushala invites the community to join in its mission. Each initiative fosters a deep bond with these gentle animals, honouring the timeless cultural and spiritual relationship between people and cows in India.

Today, the gaushala continues to evolve with new developments that honour this legacy of care. A new temple is under construction on the grounds, offering a serene space for visitors to pray and connect spiritually with the revered animals. Additionally, a veterinary hospital has been established on-site, providing comprehensive medical care to ensure the health and well-being of all resident cows. To further our mission, we also introduced a gurukul where students receive Vedic education, creating a holistic environment that combines cultural education with the practice of cow care. Sustainable practices, like solar panels, also support our eco-friendly vision, aligning with the gaushala’s commitment to preserving both nature and tradition.

The Delhi Pinjrapole Society has been functioning in more than 4 acres of land since 1862 founded by Param Pujya Baba Shaadi Nath Ji.
Our purpose is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for cows, upholding the values of compassion in Hindu culture. Recognizing the critical role cows play in our society, Delhi Gaushala strives to offer care and protection to the cows in need, ensuring they receive shelter, food, and medical support. We aim to educate society about the importance of desi cow protection and inspire action to revive this essential part of our heritage.
We envision a future where sustainability and compassion go hand in hand. We plan to promote organic farming to ensure quality fodder for our cattle and develop a cow dung gas plant for renewable energy. We are committed to breeding pure desi cow breeds and exploring all possible uses of cow dung, including eco-friendly cremation logs to replace wood. Alongside, we aim to build a comfortable old age home for our elders.
Our mission is to ensure that all cows under our care are nourished, sheltered, and appreciated for their gentle, positive nature. As a non- profit organization, Delhi Gaushala is committed to generating funds for cow welfare and expanding its reach so that holy cows do not have to live as strays. By taking this responsibility, we aim to preserve our ancient culture and set a benchmark in animal welfare across India.
The Delhi Pinjrapole Society’s mission resonates deeply with the core elements of Hindu culture, often referred to as the “Three Gs” — Gau (cow), Geeta (the Bhagavad Geeta), and Ganga (the holy river Ganges). These three pillars hold immense spiritual and cultural significance, especially during life’s most profound moments like birth and death.
Through the Delhi Gaushala, we uphold these sacred traditions, fostering a deep connection with Gau, Geeta, and Ganga. By caring for cows, we not only protect these gentle beings but also honour the timeless values that form the foundation of Hindu culture. Join us in preserving this rich heritage and creating a compassionate future.
Our respected founders of our Gauseva Mission, their contribution has been immensely important in the establishment of Gaushala.
We are deeply grateful to our regular supporters, whose unwavering generosity enables us to provide ongoing care and welfare for our beloved cows. Their commitment to sustaining and nurturing these gentle animals plays an invaluable role in maintaining our gaushala and promoting traditional values. Each donation is a testament to their compassion and dedication, helping us create a safe, healthy environment for our cows to thrive. Thank you to our supporters for their invaluable contributions toward this noble cause.
